  • S.697 ---Railroad Retirement - (Orrin Hatch) A bill to modernize the financing of the railroad retirement system and to provide enhanced benefits to employees and beneficiaries.

  • S.1362 ---Advancement of Geriatric Education Act 2001 - (Tim Hutchinson) A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act and title Vll of the Public Health Service Act to expand medical residency training programs in geriatrics, and for other purposes.

  • S.231 ---Seniors as Volunteers in Our Schools Act - (Ben Nighthorse Campbell) Amends the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to require that appropriately qualified senior citizens be given an opportunity to serve as mentors, tutors, and volunteers for: (1) State Governors', local, and national programs for drug and violence prevention; (2) programs for education of Indian children, through local educational agencies and special projects; (3) inclusion in training for professions that serve Indians; (4) Native Hawaiian community-based education learning centers; (5) Alaska Native student enrichment programs; (6) gifted and talented children's programs; and (7) 21st Century Learning Centers.

  • S.452 ---Medicare Education and Regulatory Fairness Act of 2001 - (Frank Murkowski) Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act (SSA) concerning: (1) prospective application only of certain regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS); and (2) certain requirements for judicial and regulatory challenges of regulations.

  • S.659 ---Medicare Geographic Adjustment Fairness Act of 2001 - (Mike Crapo) Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act, as amended by the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Benefits Improvement and Protection Act of 2000, with respect to decisions of the Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board to reclassify a disproportionate share hospital (DSH) for purposes of the adjustment factor used to adjust the diagnostic related statistical group (DRG) prospective payment rate for area differences in hospital wage levels that applies to such hospital for FY 2001 or any subsequent fiscal year. Makes any such Board decision apply for purposes of adjusting payments made on a prospective basis for variations in costs attributable to wages and wage-related costs for prospective payment system-reimbursed items and services.

  • S.836 ---Amendment to the Social Security Act - (Larry Craig)- A bill to amend part C of title XI of the Social Security Act to provide for coordination of implementation of administrative simplification standards for health care information.

  • S.960 ---Medicare Medical Nutrition Therapy Amendment Act of 2001 - (Jeff Bingaman)- A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand coverage of medical nutrition therapy services under the medicare program for beneficiaries with cardiovascular diseases.

  • S.1020 ---Medicare Fairness in Reimbursement Act of 2001 - (Tom Harkin)- Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to instruct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a system for making adjustments to payments for items and services provided under the original Medicare fee-for-service program, with specified formulae for States whose average per beneficiary amount is: (1) greater than 105 percent of the national average; or (2) less than 95 percent of the national average.

  • S.1067 ---Medical Savings Account Availability Act of 2001 - (Charles Grassley)- A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to expand the availability of Archer medical savings accounts.
